So Geoff and I were in search of a legit happy hour in Charleston, SC. We are trying to save money, so we wanted a good deal. We found that at Republic Garden & Lounge on upper King Street.
Their happy hour, from 4:30 – 7:30 on M-F, features half off spritz cocktails, $3 local drafts, and half priced upscale bar grub.
Our St. Germain Cocktail featured St. Germain, Champagne, Soda, and Lemon – it was light and delicious. It cost $11 (normally $22) and made 4 cocktails. We had fun with the carafe it was served in!
For food, we got the Battery Park Brie, which was baked brie with house apple butter served with toast and sliced apple. It was deeeelish. We also got the Hummus two ways, which featured a red curry hummus and edamame smoked sea salt hummus. This was yummy, but nothing crazy good. Both serving sizes were very small. Nothing to complain about when paying half price, but I would have been disappointed if I had paid full price for them.
All in all, this is a great happy hour spot! They have a really cool patio area and fun menu (drink and food) options. They also had a live band. (They were loud, and I’m an old lady about that.) I probably would not come here and pay their regular prices – there are just too many fun drink spots in this city! But I definitely recommend it for a fun happy hour.
